Life is busy

Taras created this blog nearly a month ago but neither of us has posted anything yet which, I suppose, is a symptom of our busy lives.  The days and months blur together with 12 hours work days and never-ending deadlines. Basically, our lives largely revolve around work (at least for now) due to the nature of our positions and industries.

For me, it's a treat being home at 8pm - I still have 4-5 hours of time to do wedding planning, buy groceries, take Bella out for a walk, have dinner, Skype with family, and relax. It's even more of a treat when Taras gets home before 11pm so that I can spend an hour or two catching up with him before the next day.  Our surface-level daily routines appear monotonous and, if I were to focus on our daily routines (wake up, get ready, bus, subway, work, eat, work, work, work, eat, work, subway, bus, (or in Taras's case, cab) other stuff mentioned above, sleep) in this blog, then it would probably be a very boring blog. But hopefully this blog can be a means of highlighting the more detailed aspects and intricacies of our lives, such as:

(1) What does an investment banker do on a day-to-day basis
(2) Best places to eat in Toronto
(3) How to survive articling
(4) What does a corporate lawyer do on a day-to-day basis (although I'm not yet a lawyer)
(5) What makes Bella the most adorable and intelligent dog ever
(6) Subway commuting horror stories
(7) Awesome recipes
(8) Wedding planning challenges
(9) Other fun stuff
(10) Travel plans and excursions
(11) Our opinions on politics, world events, people, news, etc. (Note: Taras and I often have different opinions on a wide variety of subjects so his views are his own and mine are my own when it comes to this blog. If you hear from one of us on a topic, you'll also likely here from the other on the same topic but with a completely different perspective)
(12) Related to the above, we may even post our irrelevant debates on here, mostly for the purposes of obtaining a third party decision to resolve the debate. Most times, we both end up thinking the other person is wrong and we are both right (although in truth, I'm mostly right), which is also fine.
(13) The future... (Note: even this blog name is a bit premature because I'm not yet a Kulyk and Taras hasn't even changed his name to Kulyk). I'm sure we'll have lots of future interesting tales to discuss. Taras, for instance, has mentioned the topic of babies in recent months. However, I can mostly guarantee that the topic of babies (other than friend and family and animal babies)  will not appear on the blog for another 4-5 years.

Stay tuned - hopefully, it won't take another 2 months for the second blog post, but if it does, you'll know why.

Taras, over to you!
